Oita History/Culture

"This course runs through the heart of the city, and the highlight are the many sculptures and bronze statues that you can see.
In the walking park and nearby locations there are memorial monuments dedicated to people and accomplishments from the time of Nanban culture; a sculpture by the Oita Prefecture native Fumio Asakura is located here, called ""Oriental Rodin.""
There's also a castle ruins park where a bust of Otomo Sorin is located, as well as an art plaza made by the world-class architect Arata Isozaki, also an Oita native.
Aside from artwork there's also plenty more fun to be had along the route, including several unique shops."
