Iizuka Area: Edo Kabuki Hut-style Kaho Theater
Iizuka Area: A stone monument dedicated to the two nights spent here by Ogai Mori, also known as "Bungo." There is an account of his stay in Iizuka in the "Kokura Diary."
Iizuka Area: The "Kajin Byakuren-so" is a museum dedicated to Byakuren Yanagiwara. Also has materials related to Hanako Muraoka (Translator of Anne of Green Gables), Hakushu Kitahara, and Den-emon Ito
Iizuka Area: Green Path Park is composed of reclaimed land from the Iizuka River. Here, the small stream that remains will remind you that this was the waterway of the former Iizuka Inn.
Iizuka Area: This Karakuri clock reproduces the scenery of the Nagasaki Kaido Iizuka Inn; it moves every hour on the hour from 10:00~18:00.
Nogata Area: The "Nogata Saiji-kan" is the former residence of coal mine tycoon Taro Horimitsu; this is a high-rise building that was constructed in 1898 (free public exhibition)
Nogata Area: Utilizing the former Sasahara residence, the "Nogata Tanio Art Museum Storage Room" is a luxurious townhouse building constructed in 1915.
Nogata Area: Taga-jinja Shrine, which prospered as the guardian god of all the land in the Kuroda Nogata domain.
Nogata Area: Taga-cho Park stands on the ruins of the residence of Kaijima Tasuke, who amassed a fortune from coal mining.
Nogata Area: Established during the Momoyama Period, Saitoku-ji was carefully guarded as an ancestral temple of the Nogata domain. The main gate is a Nogata City Designated Cultural Property.
There are guide boards that will inform you of the start/end points and things to see along the route. These are installed at the starting point (Iizuka City), in front of Kotake Station, and at the end point (Nogata City)
